winding down the year

..and it HAS been a busy one!
(Although next year will be moreso, I know)

Hub has to work New Years Weekend
That's the way it goes
Off Christmas, work New Years
Work Christmas, off New Years
Been like that for as long
As I can remember
He IS a Director
You would think that he could
Be off whenever he wants
No such luck in his industry
Ah well
That's how I get to stay home
And not miss the special moments...

Anyhoo
Christmas was fun
Except my very smart 2 year old
Got WAY WAY WAY
Too many toys
Out of control, really.
But she had a ball

She couldn't believe that Santa
Actually came INTO our house
And ate almost all of the cupcake
She left for him

My favourite gifts?
Hub got me two outfits
From a maternity store
That actually came with
Matching newborn outfits
So freakin' cute
Nothing too corny
Just a little navy fleece sweatsuit
(One for me, one for baby)
And a red winter dressy sweater
(One for me, simple red cardigan for baby)

We're off to the city tomorrow afternoon
To catch 'Disney on Ice: Monsters Inc'
My very smart 2 year old is pumped
Because NOBODY is funnier than Mike and Sully
To her

But then, New Years weekend
(Eve, Day and the day after)
It's just her and I

Maybe we'll get some more snow
Get her toboggan out again
(It's been raining lately...blech)

At least I get to spend
New Years
With at least ONE of my favourite people...

Happy New Year Everyone....:)

The Y & R

Yes, I watch it
I have watched it since
I was about 10

I have watched it since
Jill was Mrs. Chancellor's maid

I watched it since
Nicki was a stripper
Who wooed millionaire
Victor Newman
From her pole on stage

I have watched it
Since overweight Tracey Abbot
LOVED Danny Romalotti
But Lauren Fenmore stole him

I have watched it
Forever
It seems

I went through about a year of
NOT watching it
But have recently rediscovered it
Since I've moved here

I think it's because
We have satellite TV now
And it's on about 168 times a day
Thanks to time-shifting

I love watching it at this time of year, though.
All the fancy shmancy parties
And the fancy shmancy gifts
With the elaborate dinners
And the immaculately dressed kids

And you know, special Christmas-themed
Storylines
Like blowing up yachts
And trapping people in dungeons
To rot over the holidays

What says Christmas MORE
Than stuff like that??

Ok..it's one of my guilty pleasures
Don't pretend like you don't have
A HANDFUL of them
Like me

;)

5 more days

I'm ready
Amazingly enough

Yes, I have packed one house
Moved
Unpacked here
All that WITH a toddler
Running amok

And I'm still ready

Actually
I still have stocking's left to do

But I'll tell you a secret

My Mom works part time
At Shoppers Drug Mart
(That's Walgreens to you Americans
And Pharmaprix to you, Heidi)

And she gets an AWESOME discount

So, we're going tomorrow
To do stocking stuff

THEN I'll REALLY be done

But presents are bought
AND wrapped
Fresh turkey is ordered
Food is bought
Halls are decked

What a wonderful time of year.

Oh yeah, it helps that we have a
TON of snow on the ground

I love that.

bummed

For all you
Rosie readers
The new "r store"
Has some fun stuff...

I was in there like
A dirty shirt
Ordering a new shirt
On the first day

Until I got to the shipping page

Something like $27
For standard shipping?

Isn't that a little spency?

Aw well
Guess I'll have to go topless

Rrrrright.

no more suspense

Ok, so
Our ultrasound takes place
On our moving day
Which was also in the middle
Of an effing blizzard

Hub wasn't going to come
Because we had 3 mover-guys at our place
And it's our second
We're not quite glued to the hip
As we were for all the appt's
We had
With our first

Anyway
The blizzard was bad
So he drove me
And stayed

We watch with wonder
Once again
Then I see Baby's hands
Rubbing it's eyes

Then reaching down
Between it's legs

Any guesses??
LMAO

I say out loud
"It HAS to be a boy,
He's already scratching himself"
(Either that or it's Madonna in there)

Sure enough
I was right

So, colour us BLUE!

How exciting is that?!?!?

Oh yeah
My very smart 2 year old
Wants to name him "Bingo"

Don't know where that came from...

alive

Yes, we are

Thanks for wondering :)

I JUST got my internet set up today
Just because I've been busier
Than a hooker on payday..

The move went great
Hit a few snags along the way
But nothing we can't get by

Things like
We had no TV for 5 days
Ok for us, but not for a 2 year old
Thank God she has about a hundred
Videos and DVD's, but still
I would put one in
And she would want it changed 2 minutes
Later
Not gonna happen

Things like
No phone for 6 days
Our cell phone bills should be real pretty

Our new fridge is about
One tenth of an inch
Too big for the hole for it in our kitchen
So there it sits in the middle of my
Gorgeous new kitchen
Cute.
Countertop-boy is coming tomorrow
To see if he can alter the counter a tad
Or else we'll get a new fridge.

What else?
Just little annoying moving stuff
Mostly because my husband has no sense
Of organization when it comes to packing

I haven't been able to vaccum yet
Because he packed the hose in some box
Where it probably shouldn't be
But he can't remember
And the central vac guy won't be here for
A week

So I try not to look down.

Oh yeah, and to top it off
My dog had diahrea for the first
5 days we were here.

Fun.
Especailly when you have no fence
And it's 20 below out
And he needs to %$#^
Every half hour

But we love the house
It's all Christmas-ed up already
(Did that the 2nd day we were here
I couldn't wait any longer)

Oh yeah...
Had our ultrasound while I was gone
W know what it is...
In case anyone is interested :)

Stay tuned for my next entry...
Mwah ha ha ha....
