being blunt

Yep
That's me
Ms. Blunt

K, so I go to my OB last week
He asks the usual
"Any problems? Concerns?"

Nope, I answer.
Just tired.

OH! I remember
"There is one thing"
I tell him

"It feels as though the baby's head
Is sitting in my crotch all the time
Sometimes the pressure is very, very uncomfortable"

So?
Remember, HE asked.

"Well," he says,
You have pushed one baby out vaginally
So your cervix is already stretched inside,
So he can nestle his head in there nicely
In other words, he can sit lower"

Ms Blunt meets Mr. Blunt
I suppose

I've mentioned this to my other girlfriends
Who have had 2 or 3 babies
And they've shared stories with me
About "feeling as though the baby's head
Is popping out"
Or "having to discreetly check
to make sure there isn't a baby
Hanging out sometimes"

OMG!
Hello?!?!????????????????

I'm happy to report
That it isn't THAT bad..

But it's good to know
That the feeling is common.

jann arden

I believe I've spoken of her
Before in Blogland
Somewhere
I know I have

Went to see her in concert
Last night
Our second time

She's effing fantastic
And effing funny as hell

Most Canuckies know who she is
Cuz she be a Canuck herself :)

But, for my American
Blog buddies
Who aren't familiar with Jann
But love music
And love discovering new music
To add to their collection

Give her a listen.

If you are only to going to buy
One Jann CD
Or listen to songs from one CD
Let it be "Living Under June"
It's older
But certainly my favourite

Check her out
You won't be disappointed....

potty power

We've finally found it
The power
To pee-pee
On the potty

Up until now
She had no interest
Zero
Zilch
Nada
Rien

But on Friday
She did

And we've been going strong every since

Thank goodness
I know I didn't want TWO in diapers
That's for sure

Oh yeah...
She gets either a Dora potty-power sticker
Or a Spiderman one
(She's recently SO into Spidey)
And we stick it on that date on my calendar
My MAIN calendar

But now I can't see any my damn appointments
Because of all the Dora's and Spidey's
That we've had to make a special Potty Calendar
To accomodate those two

It's such a great thing though
Seeing her so damn proud of herself

She makes my heart smile.

baby, it's cold outside

What a wacky week for weather!

On Thursday
We had snow
Then rain
Then freezing rain
Then more snow
Combined with wickedly high winds
All in one day

Then yesterday the wind blew
All day
And it snowed
All day
Then stopped

Then last night
I thought I was going to see
The Wicked Witch of the West
Drive by my window on her bicycle
With Toto flying behind her
It was so GD windy!

Then this morning
We woke up to sunshine
And a BALMY
-29 degree celcius temp
That's -20 F for my
American friends

And now it's snowing again.

You think -29C is cold?
It is, but it isn't
Especially if you live in Regina, SK
(Smack dab in the middle of Canada
In case you were wondering)

It was apparently -50 C
The other night there

The woman on the news was standing outside
There in Regina, Saskatchewan
And she had a glass of water in her hands
She threw the water up into the air
And it was ICE before it hit the ground

I kid you not, people.

Brrrrr...
Now THAT'S effing cold.

happy v-day

..or Happy Care Bear Day
As my very smart 2 year old calls it.

See, every Care Bear has a heart
Somewhere on him or her
So all hearts
Are Care Bears,
In her eyes.

How effing cute is that?

So, we've all Od'd on chocolate
Although my daughter
Doesn't think it's fair
That Mommy can tell her when
She can and can't have a Kit Kat
(Her favorite, and the only chocolate bar
She really gets right now
As we're still watching the possible
'trace of nuts'
Because her cousin has the allergy bad)

She sees Mommy stuffing
Anything and everything into her mouth
Whenever and whatever the weather

But she can't....
Not too early in the morning
Not too close to nap time...
And definitely not after dinner

So that narrows to the time down
Between 4 and 6...
Seems reasonable
But not to her most of the time..

Happy V-day, everyone :)

clarification and a rant

It depends on whom you ask...

This explains it a bit better
Better than I did, anyway...

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/10896852/

I read a previous article
One that I can't find now
Of course
That gave me the info
That I wrote about yesterday

My apologies...
Didn't mean to slam you guys down south...
Or slam your press, I mean
It won't happen again...

Just DO NOT mention the uniforms
The US Team wore in the opening ceremonies
That almost replicated
The Canadian teams attire
In Salt Lake City
Designed by the Canadian company
"Roots"

I currently have many
Articles of clothing
Purchased at Roots
Mostly because it was
All-Canadian
(I'm a stickler for stuff like that
Because there aren't many companies out there
That pride themselves on that)
Not to mention downright comfy
And oh-so-cool lookin'

I have the ORIGINAL
Salt Lake City
Backwards Hat
I also have the ORIGINAL
Jacket, with the name Roots on the chest

Now they don't feel so special anymore...

K...I'm done
For a few days anyway...;)

still buried

Yes, I'm serious.

It has snowed every day this week.

Luckily the wind has been blowing
So the accumultion has been low
But it's still snowing, folks.

Thanks for the compliments
On our new house
And my baby girl, everyone

They were super-nice

I guess the Olympics
couldn't have come at a better time
With all this crazy weather
It's nice to have them to watch

Just so you know, when I refer to them
I will call them the Turin Olympics
As that is the proper name

Did you know that "Torino"
Was just a name that NBC
(The network that paid the most
to cover them)
Asked the OCC to call them?

Beacause it was
"Easier for Americans to remember
and to say"???

I am effing serious.

American friends,
Tell me it ain't so.

Tell me that NBC is wrong,
That we don't have to
Americanize
European city names too??!

I personally think the U.S. media
Doesn't give your country
Enough credit
When it comes to stuff like that

Anyway,
For fellow fans of the Olympics
Enjoy Turin!

I will be.

buried

K...
It's been snowing and blowing
Since 4pm
SATURDAY afternoon

Yes, I said SATURDAY afternoon

We haven't gone anywhere
But the front yard
To shovel
And play

Took a few pics
Yesterday morning

Here's hoping I can post them
Without it taking TOO long
Or being TOO painful

If you're buried, like us
Be safe :)

Ok, you're just getting 2
Because it DID take too long
And it WAS painful

That's our new house
By the way
And my very smart 2.5 year old
Proud of her snowman

Ok, Ok I'm not complaining
Snow is fun :)

diabetes

So, Hub had to leave work yesterday
As he was having double vision
Big time

His boss drove him to the hospital
To be checked out
Turns out his blood sugar had skyrocketed

He is a borderline diabetic
Which basically means
he has it
But not bad enough for insulin
And finger pricks
And blood sugar daily tests

Just bad enough to watch his diet
And pop a pill everyday

Well, he pops the pills
But for some reason
He can't see the BLATENT problem
Brownies, cookies and Coke create

Along with 60 hour work weeks
And 5 hours sleep
And mega-stress at work

You know the deal

So, he is now having to
Prick his finger
Monitor his blood sugar
Completely avoid the
Brownies, cookies and Coke
(No problem, I told him
I'll take care of the cookies ;) )

I also tried to explain
That the odd piece of fruit
Or the odd carrot stick
Won't kill him

So hopefully we'll get it fixed up
WE are also working on getting his
Schedule altered
At least until the baby is born

Then I'll have him home for 20 weeks

Yes, he is taking parental leave
And will be with us EVERYDAY
From the end of April
Until mid-September

Should be fun
We hope...
LOL!
